The Mummy.

Hey, let’s encase this SUPER-dangerous dude in some sort of coffin/sarcophagus.
We will make it safe by installing a lock in it because we believe that this makes it more secure than sealing it, completely.
Then, in order to make sure he NEVER EVER gets out, we will give the key to some dude! Some dude who may not even know what it is, or even that we’ve given it to him! Foolproof!

jilllian-deactivated20111206 asked: I just wanted to tell you that I love you, in a non-romantic fanatical-geek kind of way. ;) The Queue/Draft pop-up that Missing e provides on the post button is my new favorite thing. Not even joking, I giggle with glee every time I see it. That, sir, is brilliant. Everybody needs to worship Jeremy Cutler a little today for his awesomeness.

Fun. Ooooh. We should make this a meme.
I’ve never started a meme before. Please do!
Things I'm Good At / Things I'm Bad At
GOOD AT: Keeping other people’s secrets. BAD AT: Keeping my own secrets.
GOOD AT: Solving complex math problems. BAD AT: Solving complex math problems that have dollar signs in them.
GOOD AT: Picking up on subtle hints. BAD AT: Picking up on obvious hints.
GOOD AT: Balancing things on my head. BAD AT: Walking in a straight line.
GOOD AT: Understanding women. BAD AT: Understanding men.

Further Truthful Tuesday
An observation I can share with you that I think links with a previous post about being bothered that I have messages left in my askbox: I went on a message deleting adventure, and I…
I am a completionist.
This means a great number of things related to always needing to complete things. Including, but not limited to these facts:
It bothers me when I go a month without a monthly transit...

I currently have 512 messages. I would say you’re doing well. :)
Damn.
I’d be having an aneurysm.

Truthful Tuesday
I discovered Tumblr through people I met on Twitter, which, in turn, I joined for the sole purpose of not having to call my parents during a trip to Israel.
You guys have given me some good advice about this...
I don’t want you to think the new house and its mortgage is really a large factor.
I mean, it is something, but not remotely all.
I’m voicing some concerns I’ve got big and small. Some of these voiced concerns stand in for worries that I can’t quite express.
I am scared about moving away from what I know. I’ve lived here all my life. Still, this is probably the...

What to do, what to do?
Opportunities seem to be coming at me in a jumbled order.
Hypothetically speaking, let us say that I was in the middle of an interview process for a pretty interesting company whose brand I really believed in. Further, let us also assume that in order to become employed by said hypothetical company, I would have to move. Cross a border. Live somewhere pretty busy. What would I do?
The wife and I...
I haven't seen the beasties all weekend...
itsathought:
I’m probably jinxing myself, but ever since I shot them with Cutlerish’s program, they are gone. That Cutlerish is a powerful, powerful man.
Just sayin.
:)
Didn't open my laptop the entire weekend.
Friday night with friends downtown. Saturday and Sunday relaxing with the wife.
She played games on her computer for some of it.
I didn’t.
Didn’t lift the lid of my laptop once.
Used my phone for a few minutes, cumulative.
I’m sorta proud.

The Gentle Pursuit
Fortune falling wherever her furtive glance leads.
She is many women and none all the same, though I cannot say.
It’s worry and determination and heartache and splendour the kind that gets in your eyes in meteor showers, and warm summer nights.

Spectrum of Subtext
It’s featured in the long, loving caress In the inordinate details of a silent message A waking moment, formless and distinct A warmth and a free flutter.
Speech cheapens the truest words Language falls short of the meaning A whole spectrum of original colour No mixed paint will achieve.
The sheer magnitude Is enough to make me stumble It’s a fright to hear so much In nothing at all.

Words and Stars
Mistakes are words that cannot be rephrased Once written, twice revisited, thrice revised
Form stars, unreachable burns, that still cast images Into the hum of an ever-twisting machine
Moving, always forward, in an empty night Trailing constellations of letters behind.

So, how can I switch teams?
There’s this fairly big development item that’s been in the works in our compiler for a while.
It’s basically been a one-man effort for a while, being driven by this pretty smart senior developer.
He decided to have some of the different platform developers help out with some implementation, partly to make it easier on him, partly so that they could get some experience with it...

Party downtown
It’s a friend’s birthday tonight. So there’s a party downtown.
I’m supposed to meet some friends for dinner and then we’ll arrive exceedingly fashionably late.
Only Maggie won’t be coming. She’s been working late the last while on her first few weeks as maintenance supervisor.
That means getting home will be extremely difficult for me. Buses don’t...

Loonies? Those got me in so much trouble. I’d forget they were real money.
Actually, there’s only one loonie there. The rest are toonies.
Plus 10 cents total in Canadian Tire money.

You may have noticed...
That in my travel in China, I’ve seen one of the prettiest cities, the biggest city, the home of the Terracotta warriors.
I’ve never been to Beijing. I’ve never seen the Great Wall.
The problem being married to someone who grew up in China. She’s not interested in seeing some of the typical sights.
She promised me next time. Although, she’s promised me that before.
