Operation: This Will Most Likely End Badly is a...
It didn’t start out as an attempt to get my wife interested in social media, but who am I if not the guy that pounces on questionably-valid opportunities that may end up blowing up in his face.
I installed Draw Something on Maggie’s phone. The fact that she first saw it played on a ginormous phone with a stylus has her worried her drawing is horrible, though. So be warned.
I can’t promise her...

My niece's birthday tomorrow
We got her a scooter.
We had to go to the store today to buy wrapping paper. I kept having to pick up new roll after new roll as Maggie kept creasing them by starting swordfights in the aisle.

noncromulant replied to your post:
I miss the days when I lived in a condo downtown… FUCK RIGHT OFF. I watched so many partial movies for free because of you, I think. Breadalbane and Bay, by chance?
You can’t be serious!
I lived in 909 Bay. Right on the northeast corner of Breadalbane!

where we projected pirated movies onto the government buildings across the street and watched them from the balcony and got semi-regular visits from the provincial police.
I have managed to lose three times in a row
Scratching on the 8 ball with almost all their balls on the table.
WTF?

Mail Call
I think Maggie needs a lesson on recognizing red light cameras.
Juxtaposition
I am as happy to build a computer as I am to put together an outfit (I’ve been lax in this department for a while working on my thesis at home).
My chosen career puts me in front of barely intelligible lines of code on a computer all day, but these eyes still pick up subtle cues essential to a strong sense of empathy.
I can wire up circuits for a whole bunch of things, but would almost always...

TJ is awesome. Richmond Hill Public Library, not...
I bitched about a lack of SSH access here at the library, so TJ set up an account on his computer that I could use for tunneling (basically, I can piggyback my Internet activity through his computer to bypass the library’s restrictions).
It is a very kind gesture from one geek to another. It came just in time for the library wireless to get really spotty.
I’m going to go grab lunch...

Why does the library block SSH traffic?
I need it!
To check in Missing e changes AND to get thesis work done! I need to connect to other computers!
Why would you block it? That’s stupid, Richmond Hill Public Library.

No Context Theater
Me: You're a horrible person.
Maggie: How am I horrible?
Me: You won't even let me protect your boob from tornadoes.

My neurosis
According to Maggie, when I toss and turn in my sleep, I sit up completely before turning, so as not to stretch my shirt.
Even when I’m not wearing a shirt.

Today.
Eat pizza for brunch while watching Primeval
Go to central library in effort to “get work done”
Go home when Maggie’s off work to make dinner and re-watch some Avatar: The Last Airbender

I hate to say it, but...
when you post against Tumblr drama, the people who already agree with you agree with you, and the people who don’t most likely think they are doing some sort of service. To be honest, I think that (and I may be wrong here) the wronged party is more likely to appreciate a kind, private word from many than long, public posts from a few.
I get that it feels right to say something publicly,...

Maggie made me call tech support
Her phone hasn’t been getting data service for a couple of days.
I spent a few minutes talking with the dude when he asks if I’ve turned the phone off and on again. I said of course. Then I whispered to Maggie to check if she had, just in case.
She hadn’t. She hadn’t tried power cycling.
Anybody know a good divorce lawyer?
I let the tech support guy reset things on his end, while I...
