That’s that. Three years gone and I’m off in search of something new.

I was recruited straight out of grad school to cut my teeth on a Java Just-In-Time compiler. The work was unequal parts intriguing problems, playing with cutting edge processors and defect/bug aggravations. I can tell you now that interesting ideas isn’t enough to hold the attention of an engineer much more extroverted than is typically recommended for the field.

I found design and development work closer to the user experience much more rewarding. Alas, that was all through part-time self-employment and a consuming hobby (Missing e). I felt more fulfilled working on things that people would notice.

Now to find employment somewhere that can make use of someone with experience up and down the computer software and hardware stack, from processor architecture through compiler development to browser extension devlopment and web development.

Oh, after I finally finish up my Master’s thesis, though.
