I am almost never on Facebook.
So, if I like or comment on a post there, you should know that you are important. Because…
you were high enough on the news feed for me to reach before I got bored.
Social Fixer Makes Facebook More Fun and Functional - Gadgetwise [NYTimes]
If you spend a lot of time on Facebook, you probably have a small list of petty gripes about the site’s user interface….
Good news: a browser add-on called Social Fixer does all of the above and more. It was written by a software engineer, Matt Kruse, who lives in Illinois and works for a hedge fund. Mr. Kruse created the add-on, originally called Better Facebook, to solve his own pet peeves. But when he set up a site and published his creation for the world, the reaction blew his mind: so far, a quarter of a million people have downloaded it. Facebook’s lawyers asked him to change the name, but otherwise the company seems cool with it. And why not? Social Fixer gets people to spend more time on Facebook.
Huh. A browser extension that allows users to change how they browse and use Facebook?
Facebook is cool with this bullshit? They are totally okay with a browser extension that gets more people on Facebook and keeps them there? SHENANIGANS!
I am really sorry to announce that time of FGS project has finished. After 1.5 year of providing users with a service that was meant to improve their gaming experience, I am shocked that this project ends in such an unpleasant situation as I am forced to stop it for good.
