- WOOO! RAH! JEREMY ROCKS! THE CROWD GOES WILD!
If you already have an older version installed, just click the Install link on the Tumblr Reply Replies page again.
Tumblr Reply Replies! Sorta!
This script, for use with Chrome (possibly Opera) and Greasemonkey on Firefox, will allow you to reply to any dashboard notification on tumblr, whether they be replies, likes, answers or what have you!
Really, what it will actually do when you click the icon of any notification in your dash is open a new text post and populate the rich text editor with the notification in quoted form so you can type in a response.
It will preserve the original reply’s link to the tumblrer who replied and to the original post they replied to.
Special Features:
Multiple Notification Reply
If you want to reply to multiple notifications in the same post, now you can!
- Hold down the Shift key and click on the notification icons of each of the notifications you want to reply to.
- Click without the Shift key on the last notification you want to include.
- All the notifications will appear in a single post in chronological order.
Avatars Included
By default, the script will include the 16x16 avatar of the tumblrer the notification is from. All without turning the avatar into one of those silly grey boxes!
If you want to change the setting for whether or not to include the avatar, do one of the following:
- (Any Browser) Hold down the Ctrl key and click on any notification icon, and a dialog box will appear allowing you to change the setting.
- (Firefox/Greasemonkey Only) Use the available menu option in Tools > Greasemonkey > User Script Commands… > Show/Hide Avatars.
Feel free to reblog this or mention it to your friends and loved ones. In fact, I insist. Forcefully!

So, for any of you who are using Tumblr Reply Replies, I’ve been noticing this. For the people who haven’t upgraded, you get that weird grey box instead of an avatar (when viewing the post on the dash, on your own page it is fine). You might sometimes even get two avatars.
Well, the newest version fixes that AND lets you reply to multiple notifications at once. Check it out!
Sorry for the terrible obfuscation. I’m on my fiancee’s computer, so I’m relegated to MS Paint…. I hate to ruin the suspense, but that’s a justafrog post. Perhaps you need the upgrade?
This is what happens when you go too fast [Update to Tumblr Reply Replies]
So, there’s a small update to Tumblr Reply Replies v0.3.1, where I made sure that the avatar in the post is also a link to that tumblrer’s page.
Sure, it SOUNDS like no big deal.
And it probably is.
Tumblr Reply Replies has been replaced by the ‘Missing e’ browser extension for tumblr, available for Chrome, Firefox and Safari!

UPDATE (Dec 9, 2010): I decided there’s no reason why this should be limited to replies and answers. Now you can post a reply to ANY notification (including likes).
UPDATE (Dec 2, 2010): I have worked through the problem with Chrome’s security, so this does IN FACT work on Chrome. Can an Opera user double-check it works for you?
